Privacy Policy.
This policy explains how Aresiant Inc. ("Aresiant", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you visit aresiant.com, contact us, or work with us. We are based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and work with clients internationally. We handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where they apply to you, other privacy laws such as the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and US state privacy laws.
1. Who is responsible
Aresiant Inc., Toronto, Ontario, Canada, is responsible for personal information under its control. Our privacy contact can be reached at hello@aresiant.com.
2. What we collect
Information you give us
- Contact and project details you submit through our forms or by email: your name, email address, company, the services you're interested in, budget and timeline preferences, and your message.
- Client information you share while working with us, such as contact details for your team and the content, files and feedback you provide in the course of a project.
Information collected automatically
- Technical logs. Our hosting provider records standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and time of request) to deliver the site and keep it secure.
- Cookies. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. We use a single strictly necessary cookie only to give our own team access to pages under development.
3. How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry, prepare proposals and quotes, and communicate with you.
- To deliver, manage and improve the services you've engaged us for.
- To keep our website and systems secure and prevent abuse.
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
- To send you updates or marketing only where you've agreed to receive them. You can unsubscribe at any time.
We do not sell or rent your personal information.
If you are in the EU or UK, we rely on these legal bases: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests in running and securing our business, your consent (for marketing), and compliance with legal obligations.
4. Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers who help us run our business, under contracts that require them to protect it and use it only on our instructions:
| Provider | Purpose | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Vercel | Website hosting and delivery | United States and global edge network |
| Resend | Sending and receiving email from our website and domain | United States |
| Google (Gmail) | Our team inbox | United States and other locations |
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger, in which case this policy will continue to apply.
5. International transfers
Because our providers operate internationally, your information may be stored or processed outside your country, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to local authorities under local law. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
6. How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for up to 24 months if they don't turn into a project. Client records are kept for as long as needed to provide our services and to meet legal, tax and accounting requirements, after which they are deleted or anonymized.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to withdraw consent, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to receive a copy of your information in a portable format. To make a request, email hello@aresiant.com. We'll respond within the time required by applicable law.
If you have a concern, please contact us first. You can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, if you are in the EU or UK, to your local data protection authority.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including encryption in transit, two-factor authentication and least-privilege access, to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and the authorities of a breach where the law requires.
9. Data we process for clients
When we build or run systems for a client, personal information in those systems belongs to the client, and we process it only on the client's instructions under our agreement with them. Questions about that data should go to the client first.
10. Children
Our website and services are intended for businesses and are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their personal information.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
